Report: Newark School District spent $19,292 per student in 2019-20

Spending per pupil at Newark Community High School District 18 was up 27.1 percent from five years ago, according to the Kendall County Times analysis of the latest Illinois schools report card district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2019-20 report card showed the Kendall County school district spent $15,181 per pupil in 2015-16. It spent $19,292 in 2019-20.

The district's enrollment fell from 182 to 154 students over the same period.

Newark's spending in 2019-20 was 33.1 percent higher than the state average of $14,492.
