Illinois State Rep. Jed Davis (R- Newark) shares his support for State Rep. Blaine Wilhour in response to Illinois teacher’s unions promoting an anti-Wilhour campaign after Wilhour advocated for school choice.

A video produced by Americans for Matt Hall, the campaign of Wilhour’s opponent in the Republican primary, accused Wilhour of not working in the best interest of Illinois school children. The video, funded by the Illinois Education Association, one of Hall’s biggest campaign supporters, claimed Wilhour voted yes on two bills that allowed convicted minors to be paroled and and allowed illegal aliens to become police officers.

"Voters in the 110th District need to understand what is really going on here," Davis told Kendall County Times. "Blaine is being attacked for being a conservative. The far-left radicals funding his opponent’s campaign are not worried voters in the 110th District won’t have a Representative reflective of their values. Rather, they have a vested interest in ensuring voters in the 110th District are not represented. They are spending big money to put someone in office who will vote AGAINST the interests of the District. Voters should not be fooled."

Wilhour has responded, clarifying that he voted against both of the bills the video referenced.

Rep. Blaine Wilhour is a lifelong Illinois resident and a graduate of St. Elmo High School. He is a veteran of the Illinois Army National Guard and a former member of the Fayette County Board. He is a managing partner in a post-frame construction company started with his father and four brothers as well.
