City of Sandwich Committee of the Whole met March 21.

Mayor Latham called the Special Meeting to order at 7:52 PM

Roll call was taken:

Present: Mayor Latham, City Clerk Ii, Aldermen Fritsch, Holcomb, Johnson, Killey, Littlebrant, Robinson & Whitecotton

Absent: Alderman Kreinbrink

Also Present: Chief Bianchi, City Treasurer Dell & EMA Director Ciciora

Public Comment: None

Topics for Discussion 

1. Budget FY 2022-2023 Discussion & Review: With the direction of Treasurer Dell, Council reviewed the remaining undiscussed funds in the proposed budget such as MFT (Motor Fuel Tax), Drug Abuse, Tourism, and Sewer Fund. Under the Sewer Fund, some line items were felt to be inflated and others understated. Recommendations will be forwarded to Wes Levy, Lauterbach & Amen for amendments. Projected numbers FY 2022-2023 budget reflect total revenues at $24,389,347.00 and an ending cash balance of $9,067,028.00.

2. Approval of a Tentative Budget for fiscal year beginning May 1 ,2022, and ending April 30, 2023, placing the budget on display at City Hall, 144 E Railroad St, Sandwich, IL, 60548, 8am to 5pm, from the 24th of March, 2022, through April 25, 2022. Notice is further given that a public hearing on said budget will be held at 128 E. Railroad St., Sandwich, IL 60548 at 7 pm on the 25th of April, 2022.

Motion made by Alderwoman Johnson, and seconded by Alderman Littlebrant. Aye: Aldermen Fritsch, Holcomb, Johnson, Killey, Littlebrant, Robinson & Whitecotton Nay:0 Motion carried 7:0 

Announcements: The finance committee meeting will follow immediately after the Special Meeting of March 21st.

Adjournment: Motion made by Alderman Robinson and seconded by Alderman Littlebrant to adjourn the Special Meeting at 8:46 PM. Motion carried unanimously by voice vote.
