City of Sandwich Finance Committee met March 2.

Here are the minutes provided by the committee:

Alderwoman Erickson called the meeting to order at 6:30p.m.

Roll Call: Present – Alderman Robinson, Alderwoman Inman, Alderman Kreinbrink, Alderman Danko and Alderwoman Erickson. Also Present – City Administrator Penman and EMA Director Eberle.

Review of Semi-Monthly Bills: Were there 3 quotes for the purchase of the new plow- yes that was all taken care of. The hydraulic cylinder rebuild and jetter hose repairs – was there damage to the Vac truck or were these regular repairs that need do be done after looking at the invoice it was decided that the cylinder repairs were for salt pitting on the snow plows and the hoses were from normal wear and tear. Can we possibly have the Superintendents show up for questions or have a spot we can ask our questions to get answers before the meeting.

Tools and toolbox purchases what were those for – They were for the Water Department not having any tools. In 2019 we bought all new tools to outfit the new truck. Superintendents should check and keep track of tools and do inventory periodically. We should note it when things are broken or lost to buy new ones.

Unfinished Business: PPE versus Non-PPE – what should we be providing for PPE, do trucker hats and regular high vis t-shirts count as PPE that we need to provide. The liaisons will get with the Superintendents to see what they are doing for safety and what would come out of clothing allowance. They should wear something that says City of Sandwich on them if it’s a vest or a shirt.

New Business: Approval of Minutes from February 26, 2026, motion made by Alderwoman Inman and seconded by Alderman Kreinbrink. Passes by Unanimous voice vote.

Audience Comments: None
