A Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request was sent to the City of Plano, Illinois, by us at Kendall County Times on October 28, 2024. The request sought detailed information about all unpaid parking violations within the city.

As part of our ongoing commitment to provide comprehensive and accurate news coverage on local governmental affairs, we requested a list of all parking violations currently unpaid in the city. This list is expected to include the name of the offender, their address, the amount due for each violation, violation date, and total due.

The importance of access to public records for media organizations like ours cannot be overstated. It allows us to fulfill our professional responsibilities which include holding public institutions accountable and providing transparency to the public.

We believe that as a media organization disseminating information to the public, we are eligible for a fee waiver under FOIA provisions for media professionals. We await a positive response from the City of Plano as we continue our work in serving our community with reliable and timely information.

Should there be any questions or clarifications needed regarding this request, we are open for communication and look forward to a swift resolution.
