FOIA Request to Illinois Office of the Illinois State’s Attorneys Appellate Prosecutor Regarding State Agency Contracts with Vendors on March 24, 2025.

As part of our commitment to transparency and accountability in government affairs, we at Kendall County Times have submitted a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request to the Illinois Office of the Illinois State’s Attorneys Appellate Prosecutor. Our request seeks detailed documentation concerning contracts executed or modified between this state agency and their vendors during January of the 2023 fiscal year.

Specifically, we are requesting records that verify the scope of work performed, deliverables completed, and any reports or evaluations related to these contracts. This information is crucial for ensuring that public institutions are held accountable and operate transparently.

Our request aligns with our role as a media organization dedicated to gathering and reporting news to the public. We believe access to these public records is essential for fulfilling our professional responsibilities. As members of The Coalition Opposing Governmental Secrecy, a non-profit organization assisting media companies in investigating governmental actions, we strive to inform the American electorate by leveraging Freedom of Information and Sunshine Laws.

We have also requested a fee waiver due to our status as media professionals committed to disseminating information in the public interest. We await a response from the agency and will continue to pursue this matter diligently.
