He expressed concern over the passage of certain bills, specifically citing HB 2827, known as the “Homeschool Act.” “I’m incredibly disheartened by the passage of the ‘Homeschool Act’, an example of extreme government overreach, infringing on the rights of Illinois parents,” he stated.
On a positive note, Representative Davis shared the progress of his bill, HB3011, which mandates that elected community college board members take an oath to uphold the U.S. and Illinois Constitutions. “HB3011 fixes ensures these officials affirm their commitment to the foundational principles of our republic: freedom and liberty.”
Furthermore, Representative Davis introduced a 2025 Legislative Agenda webpage to improve transparency, showcasing the bills he filed in plain language, reflecting key priorities such as helping households and protecting kids.
The newsletter also included a response to the “Homeschool Act,” emphasizing criticism from families and the high number of filed opposition slips. Davis added, “Yet what I find most concerning is Illinois Democrats completely ignored the will of the people.”
In a separate event, Representative Davis attended a press conference in Deerfield regarding an incident at a local school. “First and foremost, I want to recognize the Georgas family for their courage,” he said, condemning actions where young female students were reportedly forced to change in front of a male student.
Representative Davis also encouraged opposition to a bill aimed at legalizing prostitution, citing concerns about human trafficking. “The people of Illinois deserve leaders who will protect them, not assist with their exploitation,” he remarked.
