State Representative Jed Davis has initiated a Summer Reading Challenge for students from Kindergarten to 5th grade. The challenge encourages children to read at least eight books by August 15, 2025. Books with more than 150 words will be counted as two.

Rep. Davis, who represents Yorkville, stated, “I’m a dad, and I know firsthand how easy kids lose momentum over the summer. This challenge keeps them sharp and ready for the school year. Plus, it’s fun.”

Participants who complete the challenge will receive a certificate and a free ice cream voucher. Parents can submit their child’s completed form online at RepJedDavis.com or obtain a paper copy from Rep. Davis’ district office or local libraries.
