Plano City Council met March 15.

Here is the minutes provided by the Council:

A motion was made by Alderman Jones, seconded by Alderman Eaton to reconvene the public hearings. Attorney Grant explained the need to renew and extend two Ordinances for recapture fees that will expire on February 23, 2018. There were no comments or questions from the public.

A motion was made by Alderman Eaton, seconded by Alderman Jones, to close the public hearings. A Unanimous “Aye” voice vote was heard. The motion passed

The continued meeting of the Plano City Council was called to order on Thursday, February 15, 2018 by Mayor Robert A. Hausler in the Council Room at City Hall. The Mayor led the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag.

Steve DeBolt Present; Barb Nadeau Present

Ben Eaton Present; Jamal Williams Present

Bob Jones Present; Tommy Johns Present

Mike Rennels Absent; Scott Mulliner Present

There was a quorum.

Agenda:

A motion was made by Alderman Mulliner, seconded by Alderman Williams, to approve the agenda for the continued meeting of February 15, 2018. A unanimous “Aye” voice vote was heard. The motion passed.

Wage Report: None

Introduction Of Guests:

Guests and members of the press were welcomed by Mayor Hausler.

Citizen’s Comments: None

Mayor’s Report: Bob Hausler

A motion was made by Alderman Mulliner, seconded by Alderman Eaton, to approve expenses for the IML Board of Directors meeting to Washington DC for expenses not to exceed $1000.00.

Voting “Nay”:

Plano Area Chamber Of Commerce: Rich Healy – Absent – No report

Ordinance 2018-9 renew and extend recapture fee ordinance (sewer)

A motion was made by Alderman Mulliner, seconded by Alderman Eaton, to approve an Ordinance renewing and extending an ordinance establishing recapture fees for the City of Plano East side interceptor sewer.

Voting “Aye”: Nadeau, Johns, Jones, Mulliner, DeBolt, Eaton, Williams

Voting “Nay”:

Absent: Rennels

Motion passed.

Ordinance 2018-10 renew and extend recapture fee ordinance (water)

A motion was made by Alderman Mulliner, seconded by Alderman Williams, to approve an Ordinance renewing and extending an ordinance establishing recapture fees for the City of Plano at Needham Rd for water main.

Voting “Aye”: Nadeau, Johns, Jones, Mulliner, DeBolt, Eaton, Williams

Voting “Nay”:

Absent: Rennels

Alderman DeBolt called a meeting for March 15, 2018 at 6:00 PM to discuss haunted houses.

Alderman Williams requested “Future meeting dates” be added to his next agenda.

Parks: Alderman Johns – No report

Personnel & Insurance: Alderman Jones

Alderman Jones will have a meeting On February 21, 2018 at 6:00 PM to discuss section 508 in the employee manual.

Special Events: Alderman Nadeau

Alderman Nadeau asked if she could start her meeting as soon as the continued Council meeting was over, the Mayor explained she needed to wait until 6:30 PM.

Streets & Utilities: Alderman Eaton – No Report

Citizen’s Comments:

Alderman Eaton requested to speak as a citizen. He would like to start a compassion challenge. A special COW meeting was called for March 5, 2018 at 6:00 PM.

Adjournment:

A motion was made by Alderman Jones, seconded by Alderman Eaton, to adjourn. A unanimous “Aye” voice vote was heard. The motion passed. The meeting adjourned at 6:23 p.m.
