City of Yorkville issued the following announcement on Nov. 30.
At Tuesday night's City Council meeting, Mayor Gary Golinski and Parks and Recreation Director Tim Evans recognized the Yorkville American Legion Post #489 (Commander Tim Conrardy pictured) and the Veterans Assistance Commission of Kendall County (Donovan Torres, CVSO pictured) for their collaboration with the City for the Flags of Valor initiative over Veterans Day 2018. There were over 50 flags that were sponsored at Town Square Park. The flag display was to honor our nation and all of the veterans who have served. The effort from the organizations was remarkable and we hope to make it an annual presentation.
We appreciate your partnership and admire the many ways both of your organizations give back to the community.
