PLANO AREA CHAMBER OF COMMERCE: Shannon Kmak Named as Leadership Plano Program Director

Plano Area Chamber Of Commerce issued the following announcement on April 23.

Leadership Plano, a program of the Plano Chamber of Commerce, is proud to announce that Shannon Kmak has been selected to take over the role of Program Director and Facilitator. In this role, Kmak will work closely with the Leadership Plano Executive Board to oversee the Leadership Plano class sessions, annual retreat, and other related projects.

A graduate of Leadership Plano Class 32, Kmak served on the Board of Leadership Plano from 2015-2018. She chaired the 2017 and 2018 North Texas Regional Leadership Day, a program for nine area leadership programs and coordinated with Chambers of Commerce from Allen-Fairview, Fort Worth, Frisco, McKinney, MetroCrest (Addison, Carrollton, Farmers Branch), Plano, Richardson, and Sherman.

“Shannon brings with her a passion for leadership development, as well as an extensive knowledge of what makes Plano a great place to live, work, play, and invest,” states Jamee Jolly, Plano Chamber President/CEO.

“As a Leadership Plano graduate and past board member, Shannon understands the mission of the program and what it takes to continue delivering a program that educates, develops, and empowers current and future leaders for the community.”

Kmak has over 20 years of marketing experience and leads her own marketing consultancy practice. She earned her Master of Business Administration from Southern Methodist University and a Bachelor of Science in Information Systems from the University of Texas at Arlington.

Currently, in her role as President of the Junior League of Collin County (JLCC) for the 2018-2019 year, Kmak leads an organization of nearly 1,000 volunteer women with an annual budget of $500,000 and assets of over $2 million. She is directly responsible for the organization’s staff; facilitates the Community Advisory and Sustainer Advisory panels; and chairs the JLCC Board of Directors.

Kmak lives in Plano with her husband, Mark Modlin, and their dogs, Flash and Zander.
