City of Yorkville issued the following announcement on Jan. 19.
The Public Works department will be trimming parkway trees starting on Tuesday, January 21st in the following subdivisions:
• Autumn Creek
• Prairie Meadows
• Blackberry North
• Bristol Bay
• Caledonia
• Whispering Meadows
• Kylyn’s Ridge
All trimming and pick-up are weather dependent. Crews will be cutting and stacking brush on one day and then the following day, a separate crew will be removing the brush.
Parkway trees are trimmed for public safety, tree health, and lastly aesthetics. Trees are trimmed to a height of 13’ over the roadways and 8’ over the sidewalks. This allows for safe clearance by all vehicular and pedestrian traffic. It also ensures that any signage in the parkway is clearly visible.
What is Removed:
• Dead Branches
• Low Limbs
• Broken Limbs
• Suckers and Water Sprouts
• Rubbing Branches
• Diseased Limbs
• Decayed and Structurally Weak Limbs
