On Sunday, Feb. 2, former Yorkville High School standout Gavin Dobbels’ current college team, the Ashland Eagles, won 6-5 in their NCAA Division II baseball game against the Arkansas–Monticello Boll Weevils.
The game took place at Daikin Park. This was their first matchup against the Boll Weevils this season.
The Eagles’ next game is scheduled for Monday, Feb. 24 at 12 p.m. at Donges Field at Tomassi Stadium against Concord Mountain Lions.
