Here is the minutes provided by the Council:

Pre-Council Meeting of the Council of the City of Joliet, Illinois was held on Monday, August 14, 2017 at 5:30 p.m. in the Council Chambers, Joliet Municipal Building, 150 W. Jefferson Street, Joliet, Illinois.

I. Roll Call:

Present: Mayor Robert O’Dekirk, Councilman Don "Duck" Dickinson, Councilwoman Bettye Gavin, Councilman John E. Gerl, Councilman Larry E. Hug, Councilman Terry Morris, Councilman Pat Mudron, Councilwoman Jan Hallums Quillman, Councilman Michael F. Turk.

Absent: None.

Also Present: Interim City Manager Martin J. Shanahan, Jr., Acting Corporation

Council Chris Regis.

II. Presentations:

A. Center for Economic Development Midyear Update - John Greuling

John Greuling with the Center for Economic Development reviewed the CED mission statement, services to businesses, mid-year report of activities, reviewed economic conditions in Will County, new business developments in 2017, and Will County Housing Permits.

A brief discussion was held regarding wage improvements for Will County.

B. Turf Replacement – Joliet Baseball Stadium

Director of Public Works Jim Trizna introduced Consultant Byron Wyns, Vice President, Director of Land Development with Wight and Company. Mr. Wyns gave an overview of the existing facility, proposed improvements, turf infill, proposed cost, and tentative schedule.

A brief discussion was held regarding the warranty, useful life, and grooming/maintenance of the turf, as well as financing the project.
