City of Joliet Baseball Committee met August 8.

Stadium Committee Meeting of the Council of the City of Joliet, Illinois was held on Tuesday, August 7, 2017 at 4:30 p.m. in the Executive Conference Room, Joliet Municipal Building, 150 W. Jefferson Street, Joliet, Illinois.
I. Roll Call
Present: Councilman Pat Mudron, Councilwoman Jan Hallums Quillman, Councilman Michael F. Turk.
Absent: None.
Also Present: Mayor Robert O'Dekirk, Interim City Manager Martin Shanahan, Jr., Deputy City Manager/Economic Development Direct Steve Jones, Acting Corporation Counsel Chris Regis, City Clerk Christa Desiderio, Director of Administrative Services Ken Mihelich, General Manager of the Joliet Slammers Heather Mills.
II. Approval Of Minutes - March 8, 2017
Motion to approve the minutes of the Baseball Committee held on March 8, 2017 was made by Councilwoman Jan Hallums Quillman.
Motion seconded by Councilman Michael F. Turk. Motion carried by the following vote:
Ayes: Councilman Pat Mudron, Councilwoman Jan Hallums Quillman, Councilman Michael F. Turk.
Nays: None.
III. Update - Installation Of Artificial Turf
Interim City Manager, Marty Shanahan, gave a few highlights regarding the turf replacement project. He stated staff will give a complete update at the Pre-Council Meeting scheduled for August 14, 2017.
A brief discuss was held concerning the company hired for the installation of the artificial turf.
IV. Renewal Of Lease (Slammers) For Use Of Stadium
Interim City Manager Marty Shanahan stated he is recommending the Stadium Committee enter closed session to discuss the renewal of the lease (Slammers) for use of the stadium.
V. New or Old Business, not for final action or recommendation
Councilman Turk rescinded his motion to enter closed session in order to discuss new or old business not for final action or recommendation.
Councilwoman Quillman inquired about ABC News coverage of the IHSA Baseball Tournament.
A brief discussion was held regarding the replacement of the name "Silver Cross Stadium" on the sign.
VI. Closed Session
Motion to enter closed session to discuss the setting of a price for sale or lease of property owned by the public body (5 ILCS 120/2(c)(6)) after which the meeting will adjourn was made by Councilman Michael F. Turk.
Motion seconded by Councilwoman Jan Hallums Quillman.
Motion carried by the following vote:
Ayes: Councilman Pat Mudron, Councilwoman Jan Hallums Quillman, Councilman Michael F. Turk.
Nays: None.
