City of Joliet Finance Committee met July 18.
Here is the minutes provided by the Committee:
1. Roll Call
Present: Councilman Michael F. Turk, Councilman John E. Gerl.
Absent: Councilman Pat Mudron.
Also Present: Economic Development Director/Deputy City Manager Steve Jones, Director of Finance James Ghedotte, Director of Administrative Services Kenneth R. Mihelich, Benefits/Risk Management Administrator Valeria Hall, and Area Executive Vice President with Arthur J. Gallagher Risk Management Services, Inc. Rich Stokluska.
Chairman Turk advised the Committee, Councilman Mudron was out of town and would not be attending. He requested the Committee table Item #3 on the agenda, Approval of the Proposed Renewal of Property and Casualty Coverage's until the next meeting, as Councilman Mudron had questions.
Motion to adjourn was made by Councilman John E. Gerl.
Motion seconded by Councilman Michael F. Turk.
Motion carried by the following vote:
Ayes: Councilman Michael F. Turk, Councilman John E. Gerl.
Nays: None.
The Committee took a short recess and then reconvened approximately 10 minutes later with Roll Call.
2. Approval of Minutes – Regular Meeting – June 20, 2017
Motion to approve the Regular Meeting Minutes held on June 20, 2017 was made by Councilman John E. Gerl.
Motion seconded by Councilman Michael F. Turk.
Motion carried by the following vote:
Ayes: Councilman Michael F. Turk, Councilman John E. Gerl.
Nays: None.
3. Discussion of Finance Committee Meeting Time
Chairman Turk reviewed a request to change the starting time of all future Finance Committee Meetings from 5:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. It was decided the meeting time would remain at 5:30 p.m. In order to properly stream the meeting live, a minimum of 15 minutes between each meeting is necessary.
4. Authorization to Approve the Proposed Renewal of Property and Casualty Coverages
Property & Casualty Coverages
Ms. Hall and Mr. Stokluska reviewed and requested Committee approval for the Authorization to Approve the Proposed Renewal of Property and Casualty Coverages Council Memo.
Motion to approve the Authorization to Approve the Proposed Renewal of Property and Casualty Coverages for presentation at the Council Meeting tonight was made by Councilman John E. Gerl.
Motion seconded by Councilman Michael F. Turk.
Motion carried by the following vote:
Ayes: Councilman Michael F. Turk, Councilman John E. Gerl.
Nays: None.
