City of Sandwich Finance Committee met August 7.

Finance Chairwoman Killey called the meeting to order at 7:56 pm
Roll call was taken:
Present: City Clerk Ii, Aldermen Dell, Killey & Robinson
Also present were Aldermen Chmielewski & O’Sullivan
Review of Semi-Monthly Bills: Bills reviewed to be submitted for payment approval at the Regular Council Meeting scheduled for Monday, August 14th, 2017.
Questions included how excavation deposits were refunded, purchase of new software for the adjudication program, and state inspection of the elevator for the Opera House.
Specific to the elevator, Clerk Ii said Advanced Elevator conducts monthly inspections but is not licensed to issue a State elevator license. She was made aware of the outdated State license a year ago, and had since turned the matter over to the Mayor for lack of finding an approved state inspection company. Alderman Dell will check with Advanced Elevator who also conducts the monthly inspection at his place of employment. He was confident that Advanced Elevator is an approved State inspector. The elevator is currently in operation under a 60-day “extension dated June 7, 2017, and issued by the State Fire Marshal.

There being no further business to come before the Committee, motion made by Alderman Robinson and seconded by Alderman Dell to adjourn the Finance Committee meeting at 8:26 pm. Motion carried unanimously by voice vote.
