City of Sandwich Finance Committee met September 18.

Finance Chairwoman Killey called the meeting to order at 9:00 pm
Roll call was taken:
Present: City Clerk Ii, Aldermen Dell, Killey & Robinson
Also present were Aldermen Kelleher & O’Sullivan; Chief Bianchi
Review of Semi-Monthly Bills: Bills reviewed to be submitted for payment approval at the Regular Council Meeting scheduled for Monday, September 25th, 2017.
Alderman Dell questioned the increase in City attorney fees for FOIA (Freedom of Information Act) requests. Chief Bianchi explained that many of the recent FOIA requests relied on legal expertise that the FOIA Officer, City Clerk Ii, could not provide. Clerk Ii added that City Hall has been inundated with FOIA requests having received 13 in one day, and that there is not enough manpower to accommodate that volume in a 3-person office. The City attorney has been able to provide much needed assistance to meet the deadlines.

There being no further business to come before the Committee, motion made by Alderman Dell and seconded by Alderman Robinson to adjourn the Finance Committee meeting at 9:10 pm. Motion carried unanimously by voice vote.
