Pre-Council Meeting of the Council of the City of Joliet, Illinois was held on Monday, December 4, 2017 at 5:30 p.m. in the Council Chambers, Joliet Municipal Building, 150 W. Jefferson Street, Joliet, Illinois.

Bob Nachrieb, spokesperson for Cathedral Area Preservation Association, addressed the Council regarding Council Memo #644-17: Ordinance Approving a Variation of Use to Allow the Renovation of an Existing Structure Back to its Original Two-Unit Use, an R-3 Use Within the R-2 Zoning District, Located at 530 Walsh Avenue.
Dan Softcheck, son of the owner of 530 Walsh Avenue, also addressed the Council concerning Council Memo #644-17.

Councilwoman Quillman stated Silver Cross Hospital agreed to give quarry stone to the Joliet Museum, therefore, this item needs added to the annexation agreement. Corporation Counsel Marty Shanahan stated the stone will be added to the agreement.

Steve Jones, Deputy City Manager/Economic Development Director, discussed adopting Amendment No. 2 to the City Center TIF District which would decrease the territory presently located within the existing City Center TIF and create an additional downtown Joliet TIF. He stated representatives from all the taxing bodies within the TIF area have been chosen to serve on the Joint Review Board and will meet at City Hall on Thursday, December 21, 2017 at noon. He stated the Ordinances also established a Public Hearing date which will be held on February 20, 2018.
