City of Joliet Finance Committee met November 21.

1. Roll Call
Present: Councilman Michael F. Turk, Councilman John E. Gerl, Councilman Pat Mudron.
Absent: None.
Also Present: Councilman District 1, Larry Hug, Deputy City Manager/Economic Development Director Steve Jones, Director of Finance James Ghedotte, Director of Administrative Services Kenneth R. Mihelich, Human Resources Manager Kathy Franson, Dave Gerdes and Rick Raasch with the Police Pension Fund, Brian Prochaska, Craig Perrine, and Eric Mattson with the Fire Pension Fund and Bob Okon with the Herald News.
2. Approval of Minutes – Regular Meeting – October 17, 2017
Motion to approve the Regular Meeting Minutes held on October 17, 2017 was made by Councilman John E. Gerl.
Motion seconded by Councilman Pat Mudron.
Motion carried by the following vote:
Ayes: Councilman Michael F. Turk, Councilman John E. Gerl, Councilman Pat Mudron.
Nays: None.
3. Discussion of Firefighters’ & Police Officers’ Pension Funds
Director of Finance, Jim Ghedotte gave an overview of the Firefighter's & Police Officer's Pension Funds. A discussion took place on the dollar amounts and the time the contributions are to be made. Initially, the amounts were going to be the "base-line" and the final decision was to use the "phase-in" numbers.
4. Monthly Financial Report
Mr. Ghedotte reviewed the Monthly Financial Report.
A brief discussion was held regarding the parking decks and methods of payment.
5. Personnel Summary
Director of Administrative Services Kenneth R. Mihelich introduced Kathy Franson, the new Manager of Human Resources. He then gave a brief overview of the Personnel Summary.
6. Travel Expense Report
Mr. Ghedotte reviewed the Travel Expense Report.
7. Invoices Paid Report
Mr. Ghedotte reviewed the Invoices Paid Report.
8. Old/New Business – (not for final action or recommendation)
9. Adjournment
Motion to adjourn was made Councilman John E. Gerl.
