Plano City Council met April 9.

Here is the minutes provided by the Council:

The regular meeting of the Plano City Council was called to order on Monday, April 9, 2018 by Mayor Robert A. Hausler in the Council Room at City Hall. The Mayor led the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag.

There was a quorum.

Minutes:

A motion was made by Alderman Eaton, seconded by Alderman Jones, to approve the minutes of the regular meeting on March 26, 2018. A unanimous “Aye” voice vote was heard. The motion passed.

Agenda:

A motion was made by Alderman Eaton, seconded by Alderman Williams, to approve the agenda for the regular meeting of April 9, 2018. A unanimous “Aye” voice vote was heard. The motion passed.

Warrants:

A motion was made by Alderman Williams, seconded by Alderman Eaton, that orders are drawn on the Treasury to pay per warrant list dated April 9, 2018 in the amount of $ 227,551.47.

Introduction Of Guests:

Guests and members of the press were welcomed by Mayor Hausler.

Citizen’s Comments:

Kiel Pennington – Groot Industries – updated the Council on the transfer station tonnage.

Mike Welz – Plano Community Garden – thanked the City for their support. At the next Council meeting we will approve services requested.

Mayor’s Report: Bob Hausler

A motion was made by Alderman Jones, seconded by Alderman Eaton, to approve Point & Pay for credit card processing.

A motion was made by Alderman Jones, seconded by Alderman DeBolt, to approve advertising for a Public Works Director.

Plano Area Chamber Of Commerce: Rich Healy

There will be a ribbon cutting at MI Homes on April 12, 2018 at 5:00 PM and a ribbon cutting at Bat Arms on April 18, 2018 at 4:00 PM. April 21, 2018 will be shred event at the YMCA, May 12, 2018 is National Train Day, June 21, 2018 will be the annual golf outing. A trivia night and duffer’s golf event as well as More on 34 are being planned.

Resolution R2018-6 Metronet franchise agreement

A motion was made by Alderman Williams, seconded by Alderman Nadeau, to approve a resolution authorizing the execution of a cable television franchise agreement by and between the City of Plano and CMN-RUS Inc.

Resolution R2018-7 Special Events Policy

A motion was made by Alderman Nadeau, seconded by Alderman DeBolt, to approve a Special Events Policy.

Resolution R2018-8 Churchill LOC release/cancellation

A motion was made by Alderman Jones, seconded by Alderman Nadeau, to approve a resolution approving the release/cancellation of public improvements letters of credit for Churchill Farms Subdivision Units 1 & 2.

City Clerk: Kathleen Miller

The Spring Clean Up will be April 16-19, 2018 on your regular garbage day.

A motion was made by Alderman Jones, seconded by Alderman Eaton, to approve hiring Dee Anderson part-time, 3 days per week, 3 hours per day at $21.57 per hour until Carin Martin returns from FML.

Lt. Allison reminded the Council of the May 4, 2018 banquet.

A motion was made by Alderman Eaton, seconded by Alderman Nadeau, to approve the purchase of 3 radar units from Stalker radar in the amount of $3,711.00.

Attorney Grant commented that the Council went into closed session to discuss the status of collective bargaining and no action was taken.

A motion was made by Alderman DeBolt, seconded by Alderman Eaton, to adjourn. A unanimous “Aye” voice vote was heard. The motion passed. The meeting adjourned at 6:45 p.m.
