Family Nurse Practitioner Barb Bunton has joined the immediate care team at the Morris Hospital Yorkville Campus, 105 Saravanos Drive. Located just 1.5 miles south of the Fox River Bridge, Morris Hospital’s immediate care is open seven days a week for the treatment of non-life-threatening conditions, including minor injuries, minor burns, lacerations, animal bites, coughs, colds, sore throats, fevers and infections. Patients are seen on a walk-in basis.
Since acquiring her Family Nurse Practitioner Certificate in May 2013 from Olivet Nazarene University in Bourbonnais, Bunton has worked as a family nurse practitioner in immediate care and primary care settings. She completed her master’s degree in nursing (education) from Lewis University, bachelor’s degree in nursing from Olivet Nazarene University, and associate’s degree in nursing from Waubonsee Community College in Sugar Grove, Ill. She is board certified as a family nurse practitioner by the American Nurses Credentialing Center.
Bunton has more than 43 years of service in nursing with experience in both clinical and teaching roles. Her time includes 20 years at Morris Hospital and nine years coordinating nursing programs and teaching nursing classes at the University of St. Francis in Joliet and Robert Morris College in Chicago.
