Yorkville Area Chamber of Commerce issued the following announcement on Oct. 2.
Local domestic violence shelter and sexual assault center, Mutual Ground, invites you to support their cause and raise awareness of domestic violence at their 11th annual Walk for Hope on Sunday, October 14 at Blackberry Farm in Aurora. The event will begin at 9am and walker registration starts at 8am. Breakfast, incredible speakers, face painting, merry-go-round rides, and more will be available to walkers and their families.
Walk for Hope is one of Mutual Ground’s largest fundraising event of the year with over 600 walkers and 30 sponsors. Every dollar raised helps Mutual Ground provide education, awareness, and life-changing services that empower individuals, families, and communities to end the cycle of domestic and sexual violence.
“We are always thrilled to have so many people walk together in solidarity against victims of domestic violence. By coming out to walk, you are raising awareness of the issues surrounding domestic violence and helping support the important work we do” said Michelle Meyer, Executive Director for Mutual Ground.
Mutual Ground relies on the generosity of communities and individuals to continue improving the lives of those who seek domestic violence and sexual assault services for their agency. There is still time to create or join a team or donate to a current walker by visiting www.mutualground.org.
