City of Plano issued the following announcement on Jan. 17.
A weather disturbance will approach the area after midnight
tonight, with light snow developing by Thursday morning. The
precipitation may begin as a brief period of freezing drizzle or
very light freezing rain between roughly 2 am and 5 am, before
changing over to light snow. Freezing drizzle or light freezing
rain may result in slippery conditions developing on untreated
roads, sidewalks and parking lots.
Minor snow accumulation is possible mainly along and south of
Interstate 80 Thursday. Snowfall amounts are expected to range
from less than an inch near Interstate 80...to 1 to 2 inches along
and south of U.S. highway 24.
