City of Yorkville issued the following announcement on Feb. 3.
Yorkville's Mayor Golinski and Oswego's Village President Gail Johnson met with State Senator Sue Rezin this morning regarding support for a Metra service extension into Kendall County. Metra service would not only provide an economic boost to the region, but it would provide an environmentally sustainable method of transportation for residents. Discussions were also held regarding the need for funding to widen IL Route 47 between Yorkville and Sugar Grove. Improvements to add lanes to the roadway will increase and enhance public safety.
