Illinois State House District 97 issued the following announcement on July 8
State Representative Mark Batinick (R-Plainfield) is hosting a senior fair on Thursday, July 25th. The event will be held at St. Mary’s Immaculate Church in Plainfield, 15629 South IL-59, from 9AM—Noon.
The event is free, open to the public, and will feature vendors from area businesses, organizations, and state agencies aimed at helping seniors in every aspect of their lives. There will be resources from state, county, and local governments, as well as the services that Rep. Batinick’s District Office offers. Free health screenings will also be available on-site.
The Secretary of State’s Mobile Unit will be at the event for driver’s license and state ID renewal, license plate sticker purchase, and organ donor sign up. Drivers age 75 and older are required to take a driving test to renew their driver’s licenses; they must visit a Driver Services Facility, as driver’s over age 75 can’t renew unless they have taken the driving test.
The Representative encourages seniors in the area to attend to learn more from the various vendors.
“This event is necessary to provide seniors with information that will help them continue to live healthy, active lives,” said Batinick. “Bringing all these resources under one roof is my effort to make this event the most beneficial to them.”
There will also be free refreshments and door prizes at the event! With questions, contact Rep. Batinick’s office at (815) 254-0000.
