Minooka Elementary School District 201 Board of Education Committee of the Whole met June 17.

1. Call to Order

The meeting was called to order at 6:01 p.m. by President James Satorius. Roll call was answered as indicated. Others present were: Kris Monn, Joshua Ruland, Mary Robinson, Kevin Smith, Aaron Souza, Tiffany Staab and Lori Shanholtzer.

2. Public Comment

None

3. Review of the Agenda

3.01 Personnel - Dr. Monn went over the personnel report with the Board.

3.02 Notice of FOIA Requests - There were no FOIA requests.

3.03 Disposal of Surplus Property - Aaron Souza shared three inventory lists of technology items that will be disposed of. He estimated that we may receive $5,000 in proceeds for the items.

3.04 Approval of Purchasing Chromebook Cases - Aaron Souza shared his proposal of purchasing chromebook cases. The total equipment cost will be $36,078.75.

3.05 Approval of the purchase agreement with AkitaBox Facilities Management System- Kevin Smith shared information regarding the purchase agreement with AkitaBox Facilities Management System. The cost over a three year period will be approx. $50,000 as presented.

3.06 Asphalt Repairs & Seal Coating - Minooka Junior High & Jones Elementary Bids - Kevin Smith shared the bids for the asphalt repairs & seal coating at MJHS and JNS. He will be recommending the lowest qualified bidder J & R Asphalt at a cost of $195,795 as presented.

3.07 Resolution providing for the issue of not to exceed $44,500,000 General Obligation Refunding School Bonds, Series 2019, for the purpose of refunding certain outstanding bonds of the District, providing for the levy of a direct annual tax sufficient to pay the principal and interest on said bonds, and authorizing the proposed sale of said bonds to the purchaser thereof - Dr. Monn shared information regarding refunding of bonds. Detailed information can be located in the electronic board packet on the website.

4. Transportation - Update

Dr. Monn reported that Cathy Haase sent out a mailer to advertise that we are looking for bus drivers/aides.

5. Operations And Maintenance - Update

Kevin Smith reported:

● Summer work is off to a great start.

● Walnut Trails piping work will be starting.

● AUX/WT carpeting projects will start

● MES playground pricing has started and approximately will cost $150,000.

6. Technology – Update

None

7. Board of Education Topics

None

8. Executive Session

Moved by Skwarczynski, seconded by Allen to go into closed session to discuss the appointment, employment, compensation, discipline, performance, and/or dismissal of employees, negotiations, the purchase of real property, confidential student matters, and/or litigation.

Motion Carried at 6:30 p.m.

Moved by Conquest, seconded by Karceski to return to open session at 7:02 p.m. Motion Carried at 7:02 p.m.
