Minooka Elementary School District 201 Board of Education met July 15.

1. Call to Order

ABSENT: Vicki Allen

The meeting was called to order at 7:00 p.m. by President James Satorius. Roll call was answered as indicated. 

Others present were: Kris Monn, Mary Robinson, Kevin Smith, Aaron Souza, Tiffany Staab, Ruth Satorius, and Lori Shanholtzer.

Moved by Skwarczynski, seconded by Karceski to approve the agenda as presented. 

Aye: Skwarczynski, Karceski, Conquest, Fisher, Thompson, Satorius

Motion Approved.

2. Public Comments and Recognitions

2.01 Comments from the Employees and the Public None

3. Consent Agenda

Moved by Skwarczynski, seconded by Conquest to approve the list of bills, minutes from the June 17, 2019 regular board meeting, treasurer’s report, destruction of the closed session recordings from July 2017, FOIA Requests, 2019-2020 student/parent handbook, consolidated district plan, increase in wages for bus drivers and aides, approval of professional fee agreement with the Village of Shorewood, and semi-annual closed minutes review as presented.

Aye: Skwarczynski, Conquest, Fisher, Karceski, Thompson, Satorius 

Motion Approved.

Moved by Thompson, seconded by Karceski to approve the personnel report as presented.

4. Action Items

4.01 Publication of the 2019-2020 Budget in Tentative Form and setting the public hearing on said budget for September 16, 2019

Moved by Conquest, seconded by Fisher to approve the publication of the 2019-2020 budget in tentative form and setting the public hearing on said budget for September 16, 2019 as presented. 

Aye: Conquest, Fisher, Karceski, Skwarczynski, Thompson, Satorius

Motion approved.

4.02 Approval of Minooka Elementary School Playground Equipment

Moved by Thompson, seconded by Skwarczynski to approve the purchase of Minooka Elementary School playground equipment from Zenon at the cost of $146,279 as presented. 

Aye: Thompson, Skwarczynski, Conquest, Karceski, Satorius

Nay: Fisher

Motion approved.

5. Discussion and Information Items

5.01 Board Training Options

Dr. Monn went over various Board trainings. The Board agreed that August 28, September 25, or 26th would be possible dates. Dr. Monn stated he will contact IASB to setup.

6. COMMUNICATION 

6.01 Administrative Reports

Assistant Superintendent Report

No report.

Superintendent Report

Dr. Monn shared information about the ISBE Evidence Funding and stated that we should receive our first disbursement on August 1st.

Dr. Monn reported that the bond refunding closing will happen on July 17, 2019.

Dr. Monn shared that Minooka High School #111 hired a new principal.

Dr. Monn reported that the principals are still working on schedules. After they complete will decide on whether we will need to hire p.e. aides. He also stated that the media team has been working together to get ready for the new year.
