Minooka Community Consolidated School District 201 Board of Education met Nov. 18.

Here is the minutes provided by the board:

MEMBERS PRESENT:

Vicki Allen, Emily Conquest, Kim Fisher, Andy Karceski, Al Skwarczynski, Renee Thompson, and James Satorius

ABSENT:

1. Call to Order The meeting was called to order at 7:00 p.m. by President James Satorius. Roll call was answered as indicated. Others present were: Kris Monn, Joshua Ruland, Jason Finkelstein, Jeana Pekol, Monica Totaro, Tiffany Staab, Rodney Hiser, Sarah Monroe, Ciara Manno, Tom Neisler, Jacki Harig, Kathleen Cheshareck, Mike Lanahan, Mary Robinson, Aaron Souza, Jennifer Devereux, Hailey Bazan, Angie Hebrink, Gina Ruggeri, Ruth Satorius, Connor Wiliams, Christy McGrath, Angie Hebrink, Kristi Szum, Emma & Josh Fitzgerald, Carolina Gallegos, Liana, Stephen, Leslie Blount, Marisol Carbajal, Janet Jones, Eleanor Teague, Tyler Boyle, Monica Schild, Kait Workman, Danielle Gerding, Ross & Lydia Hubbard, Elizabeth Brender, Courtney Nurczyk, Anthony Edor, Mason Bols, Steve Huffman, Arianna Rodriguez, Cassie Bruchaber, Staab Family, Tim Laken, Connie Brushaber, Denise Kalina, Susan Torres and Lori Shanholtzer.

Moved by Thompson, seconded by Skwarczynski to approve the agenda as presented. The agenda was revised to move the MESP Bargaining agreement in the Action Items instead of having after closed session and to add Cross Country Students as part of recognition. Aye: Thompson, Skwarczynski, Allen, Conquest, Fisher, Karceski, Satorius Motion Approved.

2. Public Comments and Recognitions 

2.01 Students of the Month Recognition 

Students of the Month from MJHS and MIS were honored by the Board and read speeches to the public.

2.02 Girls Cross Country 

The board recognized Cross Country Coaches Tom Neisler, Mike Lanahan, Courtney Nurczyk and their teams for a great year.

2.03 Comments from the Employees and the Public 

Community member Denise Kalina shared her concerns regarding Illinois.

3. Consent Agenda 

Moved by Skwarczynski, seconded by Allen to approve the personnel report, list of bills, minutes from the October 21, 2019 regular board meeting and October 18, 2019 committee of the whole meeting, treasurer's report, destruction of the closed session recordings from November 2017, FOIA Requests, Intergovernmental Agreement with US Cold Storage, Intergovernmental Agreement with the Grundy/Kendall Regional Office of Education to provide training for substitutes as presented.

Motion Approved.

4. Action Items 

4.01 eLearning Days Program 

Moved by Thompson, seconded by Conquest to approve the eLearning Days Program as presented. 

Aye: Thompson, Conquest, Allen, Fisher, Karceski, Skwarczynski, Satorius 

Motion approved.

4.02 2019 Tentative Tax Levy - Approval of public notice and establish public hearing 

Moved by Skwarczynski, seconded by Karceski to approve the 2019 tentative tax levy - approval of public notice and establish public hearing as presented. 

Aye: Skwarczynski, Karceski, Allen, Conquest, Fisher, Thompson, Satorius 

Motion approved.

4.03 2019-2024 MESP Bargaining Agreement 

Moved by Fisher, seconded by Allen to approve the 2019-2024 MESP Bargaining Agreement as presented. 

Aye: Fisher, Allen, Conquest, Karceski, Skwarczynski, Thompson, Satorius 

Motion approved.

5. Discussion and Information Items 

5.01 2018-2019 Assessment Results 

Dr. Ruland shared information regarding the 2018-2019 Assessments Results. information can be located on the electronic board packet.

5.02 MIS 1:1 Instructional Technology Jeana Pekol and teachers Monica Schild and Elizabeth Brender presented to the Board information regarding the MIS 1:1 Instructional Technology.

5.03 Facilities Planning Dr. Monn shared information regarding the Minooka 201 Proposed Scope of Services Public Online Research Survey.

Dr. Monn shared information regarding the MJHS Schematic Budget Preliminary Summary and MJHS Schematic Budget Floor Plan.

6. COMMUNICATION 

6.01 Administrative Reports

Assistant Superintendent Report No report

Superintendent Report Dr. Monn reported that the State of Illinois 5Essentials Survey will be emailed to parents for their input. Data on the survey should be received in late spring/early summer.

Dr. Monn reminded the Board to save itemized receipts from the Triple I Conference.

Dr. Monn reported that Jones Elementary School will be having their One School, One Book assembly on November 22, 2019.
