Yorkville Area Chamber Of Commerce issued the following announcement on July 15.

Joliet’s City of Champions Cup to be played at DuPage Medical Group Field from July 16th-Sept 6th. Four teams will be competing, all managed by former Major League players: Billy Petrick will lead the Joliet Slammers, Scott Spiezio the Joliet Tully Monsters, Glenallen Hill the Chicago Deep Dish, and Corky Miller the NERDS® Herd. “The Joliet Slammers are pleased to announce that they will participate in the inaugural City of Champions Cup at DuPage Medical Group Field beginning July 16 running through September 6. Four teams will compete for the Cup, all playing a 27 game schedule each at DuPage Medical Group Field. The teams will be made up of players drafted from the ranks of Frontier League players and MiLB and MLB players.

The four teams playing will be managed by former Major League players: Billy Petrick will lead the Joliet Slammers, Scott Spiezio the Joliet Tully Monsters, Glenallen Hill the Chicago Deep Dish, and Corky Miller the NERDS® Herd.

Under State guidelines, games are limited to crowds at a 20% capacity so tickets will be extremely limited. To purchase individual game tickets to cheer on your favorite team, call the Slammers front office at 815-722-2287 Monday through Friday from 9am-4pm or visit HERE.

There is a minimum ticket purchase of 2 seats per game and a maximum purchase of 6 seats per game. Suites will also be available to purchase starting at $300 for 10 people. Suites are limited, so call 815-722-2287 for more information. Merchandise with the new team logos can be pre-ordered at the Store.
