City of Sandwich Finance Committee met July 6.

Here is the minutes provided by the committee:

Chairwoman Killey called the meeting to order at 7:32 PM.

Roll call was taken:

Present: Aldermen Dell, Killey & Kreinbrink

Also Present: City Clerk Ii, Alderman Redden & WSPY Correspondent Jim Wyman

Review of Semi-Monthly Bills: Bills were reviewed to be submitted for payment approval at the Regular Meeting of July 13th, 2020. Specific invoices discussed included IEPA for domestic sewage in the amount of $15,000.00 and $2,500.00 for annual permit; invoice from Wire Wizard in the amount of $5,649.00; bills debited to FNB Drug Abuse Fund totaling $795.00; invoice from Engineering Enterprises Inc. pertaining to a pressure filter media replacement at a cost of $20,000.00; and overpayment adjustments to Standard Equipment Company and Acre Hardware.

New Business: Alderman Redden advised that the street department is rethinking the purchase of a backhoe that has been budgeted for the current fiscal year. For more efficiency, the street department is considering the purchase of mini-excavator and a loader tractor. This matter will be addressed by the Council as more information is obtained.

Audience Comments: Jim Wyman, WSPY correspondent, raised questions pertaining to the Economic Development Corp and on grant money received for the remodeling of the Opera House bathrooms.

Adjournment: There being no further business to come before the Committee, motion made by Alderman Kreinbrink, and seconded by Alderman Dell, to adjourn at 8:11 PM. Motion carried unanimously by voice vote.
