City of Sandwich Committee of the Whole Council met Aug. 3.

Mayor Robinson called the meeting to order at 7:28 PM.
Roll call was taken:
Present: Mayor Robinson, City Clerk Ii, City Attorney Harrill, Aldermen Chmielewski,
Dell, Kelleher, Killey, Kreinbrink, & Surratt
Also Present: Chief Bianchi, EMA Director Ciciora & Building Official Steffens
Absent: Alderman Redden & Director of Public Works / City Engineer Horak
Mayor Robinson reminded everyone that the 2020 Census is underway, and one can respond via the phone, online or mail in their questionnaire that was received in April. For every resident that is not counted, the City will lose $1,535 per person in federal funding every year. The Mayor also noted that in 2010, it was estimated there was a 77% response return from Sandwich.

Alderman Dell expressed gratitude that the cutoff at Griswold Springs Road and Burr Oak Road has been removed.
Alderman Kreinbrink questioned how sidewalk repairs will be determined and should the City be getting bids and pricing. At an earlier meeting, Engineer Horak had advised replacing outdated City light poles at the same time for any sidewalk replacement in front of Henderson Engineering.
Aside from sidewalk issues at Henderson Engineering, Alderman Kreinbrink felt that the sidewalks around Woodbury also need addressing.
Announcements: The Finance Committee Meeting will meet immediately following the Committee- of-the-Whole Meeting on August 3rd, 2020.

Adjournment: There being no further business to come before the Council, motion made by Alderman Surratt and seconded by Alderman Kelleher to adjourn the Committee-of-the- Whole Council meeting at 7:35 PM. Motion carried unanimously via voice vote
