Q2 2020 Recap: Parolees in Kendall County convicted of crimes involving alcohol

There were three offenders convicted of crimes involving alcohol released on parole in Kendall County during the second quarter of 2020, according to Illinois Department of Corrections data obtained by the Kendall County Times.

The data shows that all of the released offenders among the parolees were men. Of the parolees sentenced for crimes involving alcohol, one was a veteran, and the median age was 56. The youngest parolee was a 36-year-old man sentenced in 2019, and the oldest was a 68-year-old man sentenced in 2017.

The offender who had been incarcerated the longest was Lonnie Chambers. He was convicted in 2017 when he was 65 years old. He is now 68.

Under state law, paroled offenders are still in legal custody of the IDOC, meaning they can be taken back to a correctional center at any time if the state has probable cause or a warrant.
