Kendall County Republican Party Chairman James Marter is keeping close watch over the election fraud allegations now playing out in DuPage County in hopes it may ultimately aide in keeping things on the up and up in his own backyard.
“We had a couple close races here, with Jim Oberweis and Jeanette Ward, where they were both up on election night,” Marter told the Kendall County Times. “What we want to do is go back and look at who really voted, do an analysis. Were they real people? Did someone send someone in that really doesn’t live here? Were there any additional votes that kind of showed up here that normally wouldn’t?”
In the DuPage County case, five individuals have been charged with casting votes on behalf of the dead.
Former DuPage County Auditor Bob Grogan lost his re-election bid by just 75 votes against Democrat William White. Grogan has now filed suit seeking a full recount with his next scheduled court appearance set for April 24.
Marter, who recently launched his campaign against U.S. Rep. Adam Kinzinger (R-Rockford), will be following the proceedings.
“Our goal is to try to find out about any election fraud by individuals or coordinated by the Democrat party and at least make an example of anything we might find to help deter it in upcoming elections,” he said.
