Kendall County Board Met Feb. 2.

Here is the minutes provided by the board:

The Kendall County Board Meeting was held at the Kendall County Historic Courthouse, 109 W Ridge St, in the City of Yorkville at 6:10 p.m. The Clerk called the roll. Members present: Chairman Scott Gryder, Amy Cesich, Brian DeBolt, Elizabeth Flowers, Scott Gengler, Judy Gilmour, Matt Kellogg, Dan Koukol, Ruben Rodriguez and Robyn Vickers.

The Clerk reported to the Chairman that a quorum was present to conduct business.

THE AGENDA

Member Koukol moved to approve the agenda. Member Cesich seconded the motion. Chairman Gryder asked for a roll call vote on the motion. All members present voting aye. Motion carried.

CONSENT AGENDA

Member Kellogg moved to approve the consent agenda of A) county board minutes from January 5, 2021; B) standing committee minutes; C) claims in an amount not to exceed $727,400.44. Member Cesich seconded the motion. Chairman Gryder asked for a roll vote on the motion. All members present voting aye. Motion carried.

ELECTED OFFICIAL REPORTS & OTHER DEPARTMENT REPORTS

Health Department

Health Department Executive Director RaeAnn VanGundy stated that they are in Phase 1B for the vaccinations. The mobile site is going well and there is going to be a mass vaccination February 6 and 7 with 2,000 vaccinations each day at the Yorkville High School. Ms. VanGundy said that it is truly a community effort.

Emergency Management Agency

Roger Bonuchi spoke about Region 2 and phases 1-5.

Sheriff

Undersheriff Richardson spoke about the adoption of the Sheriff principles. These are 10 principles they follow in their policies.

STANDING COMMITTEE REPORTS

Law Justice and Legislation

House Bill 3653

Member Gilmour moved to approve a resolution recommending Governor Pritzker Veto House Bill 3653. Member DeBolt seconded the motion.

Members discussed the process and time it took the bill to pass, contents of the bill regarding public safety, cash bail, and arrests. Sheriff Baird stated his concerns and things he supports.

Chairman Gryder asked for a roll call vote on the motion. Members voting aye include DeBolt, Gengler, Gilmour, Gryder, Kellogg, Koukol and Rodriguez. Members voting nay include Cesich, Flowers and Vickers. Motion carried 7-3.

SPECIAL COMMITTEE REPORTS

Juvenile Justice Council

Member Gilmour reported that the SKY race profit was $11,337 and the next race date is September 25, 2021.

Animal Control rabies tags may be paid for online with epay.

ADJOURNMENT

Member Kellogg moved to adjourn the County Board Meeting until the next scheduled meeting. Member Koukol seconded the motion. Chairman Gryder asked for a roll call vote on the motion. All members present voting aye. Motion carried.
