First United Methodist Church Plano issued the following announcement on Aug. 3
Open Roads ABATE Attends Convergence Run
The NW Region ABATE Convergence Run was Saturday, July 31, at Dixon VFW where 67 riders from 7 chapters converged together at the VFW. Open Roads ABATE chapter members who attended this event were Cliff and Linda Oleson. They stamped 34 Open Roads ABATE summer books as the Convergence Run was a bonus stop in the book. The winners of poker hands were: 1 st place - Grantley Powell from Thunder Rock won $100.00 with 4 tens, 2 nd place - Jeff Jenkins from Big River won $75.00 for a full house, and 3 rd place - Linda Oleson from Open Roads won $50.00 for a straight.
Starved Rock chapter won the traveling trophy for having the most members there. Proceeds from this event will be sent to FED PAC (assist our lobbyists on the federal level). 3-Headed Monster food truck provided awesome food. This event was coordinated by the NW Region Coordinator, Sandy Murrell.
