First United Methodist Church Plano issued the following announcement on Aug. 3
Sandwich ALR Participates in Honoring Veterans
The Sandwich American Legion Riders Post #181 joined with American Legion Riders from Yorkville, Sycamore, and Genoa as well as DeKalb County Forty and Eight Voiture 207, and Rolling Thunder Heartland Hospice on Saturday, July 31, to honor senior veterans, senior citizens, first responders, and healthcare workers. American Legion Riders from Sandwich participated in a Motorcycle/Motorcade Parade of Vehicles in their honor (veterans, senior citizens, first responders, healthcare workers) at 8 senior housings in the Dekalb/Sycamore Area.
The housings included Barb City Manor, Pine Acres Rehab & Living Center, DeKalb County Rehab & Nursing Center, Heritage Woods, Oak Crest DeKalb Area Retirement Center, Bethany Healthcare & Rehab Center, Grand Victorian of Sycamore, and Lincolnshire Place. Participating American Legion Riders from Sandwich were Bob and Sandy Lawrence, Gil and Sheila Gonzalez, Jon Dewitz, Lisa McFarland, and Henry Herbst.
