First United Methodist Church Plano recently issued the following announcement.
Children are invited to participate in “Trunk or Treat” sponsored by St. Mary’s Catholic Church and United Methodist Church of Plano. This event will be at the Plano UMC parking lot on Sunday, October 24, from 1 to 3 p.m. Children will be going from car trunk to car trunk collecting goodies from friendly ghosts, good witches, and pumpkins at each Halloween decorated trunk. Children and those passing out goodies may be in costume. There will be games, refreshments, photo booth, favorite decorated trunk contest, and fun.
Participants are encouraged to bring canned goods or paper products for the Kendall County Community Food Pantry. Families may bring these items to Trunk or Treat so they may be delivered to Kendall County Community Food Pantry.
It’s not too late for YOU to provide a “trunk” for our annual Trunk or Treat. We have already lined up a fire trunk, police trunk, flower trunk, furniture trunk, and many more to provide a safe fun activity for the children. If you provide a trunk, please decorate it in Halloween fashion, provide candy or novelty toys for the children, you may come in costume, and arrive at the United Methodist Church parking lot (219 N. Hale Street in Plano) by 12:30 p.m. on October 24. For more information call the church office on (630) 552-3700 or Linda on (630) 552-3828.
