Kendall County Board Increases Small Business
Grant Program to a Total of $2,000,000
On Tuesday January 4 the Kendall County Board approved a grant program to assist
small businesses affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. Businesses could apply for up to $25,000 and the total allotment was $1,000,000. The business community responded with over 190 applications in the first week.
th st On January 18 the County Board approved the 1 nine grants. Staff is currently processing the grant agreements and plans to meet with the businesses soon to deliver their checks. The board added an additional $1,000,000 to the total grant allotment, making a total of $2,000,000 to be granted to qualifying small businesses.
Chairman Scott R. Gryder commented, “The Kendall County Board has been committed to helping our small businesses to the furthest extent possible. They are the lifeblood of Kendall County. While we have limited funds to help, we want to get what we can back
into the local economy.” rd The grant portal will remain open until February 23 . To date 241 businesses have submitted applications. All eligible applicants may not be awarded a grant due to the high demand. Applicants may fill out an application
