Illinois is once again the first in last place with the largest departure of residents across the nation during 2021. It's a record setting eighth consecutive year of population decline. Wow!
We're still down hundreds of thousands of jobs from pre-pandemic levels along with having the highest unemployment rate among every neighboring state. It's no wonder people are fleeing Illinois.
Unfortunately, conservatives aren't helping the matter. Here's just a sampling of votes from a sitting republican representative.
- Voted for the largest utility rate payer increase in history. So, you guessed it, your monthly utility bills are going up.
- Voted to double the gasoline tax, now the second highest in the nation.
- Voted to give ComEd, who was indicted for pay to play schemes with Mike Madigan, a nearly $700 million bailout.
- Voted to increase drivers license fees 100% and vehicle registration fees 200%.
These votes came from my opponent, your current republican representative, David Welter. They're exactly the reason I'm running for state representative and it's time we reclaim Illinois through true conservative leadership.
This nonsense is unsustainable. Illinois should be a magnet for future generations, making change long overdue for reversing this tragic course.
