Remember Trail Courtesy - June 2, 2022

56

Share the trails! In summer, we see the heaviest use of the Park District’s 20+ miles of biking and hiking trails. Following these basic courtesy rules ensures an enjoyable time for all trail users:

  • Walk, run, skate and bike on the right
  • Try not to walk more than two abreast
  • Walk, run, skate or ride single file when path is in heavy use
  • Pass on the left
  • Ring a bell or use a verbal warning when passing
  • Bicyclists should always ride under control and watch their speed
  • Bikers and skaters must yield to walkers; pedestrians have the right-of-way
  • Obey all posted signs
  • Dog owners, please clean up after your pets
