Kendall County Sheriff’s Office Investigating Shooting

The Kendall County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a shooting that occurred early this morning at a party in the 8400 Block of Immanuel Road in unincorporated Yorkville.

The Sheriff's Office received a 911 call for reports of shots being fired at a party at approximately 1:36 AM.  Upon arriving in the area deputies located several individuals suffering from gunshot wounds.  A twenty-one-year-old man was taken to an area hospital with serious injuries and is currently receiving ongoing medical treatment.  Two twenty-two-year-old women and an eighteen-year-old woman were also treated at area hospitals for non-life threatening injuries and have since been released.

Detectives responded to the scene and initiated an investigation.  At this time it appears the suspect opened fire with a handgun following a dispute between attendees at the party. The suspect is not currently in custody and is described as a Hispanic male in his early 20’s, around 5’10” with a thin build and a goatee.  He was reported to be wearing a white shirt at the time the shooting occurred.

At this time several investigative leads have been developed and are currently being pursued.  Based on the investigation thus far, this is not believed to be a random act.

The Kendall County Sheriff’s Office was assisted in this investigation by the Kendall County Major Crimes Task Force, Oswego Police Department, Yorkville Police Department, Plano Police Department, Montgomery Police Department, the Minooka Police Department, the Kendall County Criminal Intelligence Team, the Kane County Sheriff’s Office, and the Bristol Kendall Fire Department.

The Sheriff's Office is requesting anyone with information about this incident to contact us at 630-553-5856 or email us at detectives@kendallcountyil.gov.
