WOLVES WIN THRILLER IN OT

A driving layup with 1.8 seconds remaining in overtime by the Wolves Grace Harris proved to be the difference as JJC beat Trinity Christian JV 83-80 on Thursday night at the Event Center.
After a Wolves (3-10) basket by Faith Domercant with 9.4 seconds left in overtime to pull the Wolves within one at 80-79, Trinity committed a turnover after a timeout and set the scene for the Harris basket. She was fouled on the play and with an 81-80 lead, she missed the free throw, but Domercant grabbed the board and put it in as time ran out to seal the victory.
Domercant had a career night scoring as she had 32 points to go along with 14 rebounds. Harris scored 17 points, none bigger than her game winner and Miranda Oesterreich had 13 points.
"There was a lot of pressure that last minute because we were down by a point or two, but the play coach [Shawn Sanderson] drew up worked perfectly," Domercant said. "It feels great to have a game like this, both for our team and me personally coming back from my knee injury."
The game was close the entire way as the Wolves trailed by one at the break and led by one entering the fourth quarter. Trinity tied the game in regulation and then both teams had chances to win in regulation, but neither team could connect.
The Wolves next game will be on the road as they travel to Illinois Valley College on Wednesday, December 14th.
