WCC Illinois Small Business Development Center: Sexual Harassment Prevention Training available online through Illinois Department of Human Rights | YORKVILLE AREA CHAMBER OF COMMERCE
The chamber office has received information from Harriet Parker of WCC Illinois Small Business Development Center regarding Sexual Harassment Prevention Training for employers.
The Illinois Public Act 101-0221 amended the Illinois Human Rights Act (“IHRA”), Section 2-109, requiring Illinois employers to provide annual sexual harassment prevention training by December 31, 2020, and then annually thereafter.
Harriet shared that most everything an employer needs is available online. It is encouraged that employers spend some time reviewing the site provided in the link below including the FAQ section. Compliance is simple to assure each employee goes through the training material every year and sign something that indicates they completed the training. There is no reporting necessary, simply accurate documentation and record keeping for each employee in case of an audit or a charge of harassment against the employer.
