Jim Marter, the Chairman of the Kendall County Republican Party and a candidate for the 14th Congressional District, is preparing to host a Meet and Greet event in Plainfield on Feb. 12 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. The event will be held at the Plainfield American Legion Marne Post 13, located at 24741 Renwick Road in Plainfield, and is being organized by the Marter for Congress campaign.

Attendees of this public event will have an opportunity to interact with Jim Marter, understand his vision for the 14th Congressional District, discuss various issues with him, and learn about his stance on key policy matters. Marter encourages residents to participate in discussions about the future of the district. The campaign has also arranged for a cash bar during the event and welcomes donations to support Marter’s congressional bid. According to the event invitation, Tim Hendricks, Chairman Emeritus of both Plainfield Township Republican Organization and Joliet Township Republican Organization, will be hosting this event.

Marter's LinkedIn profile reveals that he is a seasoned IT professional with over three decades of experience in the information technology and services industry. His extensive background includes pivotal roles in business process design, quality management, IT strategy, and SAP ERP. He specializes in Quality Management and Supply Chain Logistics. Since April 2012, Marter has been serving as an SAP QM Platinum Consultant at QMS Inc., demonstrating expertise in business process improvement, management consulting, quality assurance, system configuration, and product quality. Simultaneously, he holds the position of CEO at Marter Enterprises LLC - an information technologies company based in the Greater Chicago Area.

The 14th Congressional District encompasses Kendall County along with the southern half of DeKalb County, northern LaSalle County, northeast Putnam County, and parts of Will County, Kane County, and Bureau Counties. Currently represented by U.S. Rep. Lauren Underwood (D-Ill.), the 14th Congressional District has been under her leadership since 2019, as per the information available on congress.gov.
