YORKVILLE - State Representative Jed Davis (R-Yorkville) has recently filed House Bill 4178 in response to the alarming shortage of healthcare staff in Illinois. In a statement, Rep. Davis highlighted the shortage of at-home caregivers and the impact it has on individuals who rely on this level of care.

"We are currently facing an alarming shortage of healthcare staff in Illinois," said Rep. Davis. "One of the main shortage areas is with at-home caregivers. Because of this, many individuals who rely on this level of care are unable to access it."

House Bill 4178 aims to address this issue by allowing eligible, licensed family members who already work in healthcare to become at-home caregivers and be reimbursed for their work. This initiative will enable healthcare workers to stay at home and take care of their own families without facing financial losses.
