State Representative Jed Davis has launched his first monthly e-newsletter for January 2025, marking the beginning of his second term. The newsletter aims to keep constituents informed about legislative updates, outreach events, and other important news.

The 2025 legislative season begins with a 'Lame Duck' session from January 4th to 7th. While some legislators have criticized this session, Davis expressed urgency: “Let’s get to work!” He highlighted concerns over inflation and budget deficits, noting a lack of urgency from the majority party. Davis assured constituents he would provide updates through social media, future newsletters, and his website.

Davis also announced that his 2025 Legislative Survey is open for input on key policy issues affecting Illinois. He encouraged participation in the nine-question survey to help shape his legislative priorities.

In response to President-Elect Donald Trump's proposal to eliminate Daylight Savings Time, Davis introduced a one-question survey for constituents to share their opinions on the matter.

For those interested in visiting museums in the Chicagoland area, Davis's office offers a free museum pass allowing admission for up to four people. Reservations are required via a request form available online.

Upcoming outreach events include traveling office hours in Morris on January 15th and Somonauk on January 29th. A blood drive is scheduled at Davis's district office in Yorkville on February 13th.

Looking ahead, significant dates include the inauguration on January 8th, the first day of session for the 104th General Assembly on January 9th, and the bill filing deadline on January 24th. The Governor’s State of the State & Budget Address will take place on February 19th.

Davis mentioned plans for a new webpage where constituents can track bills and their status using plain language. Additionally, he announced that details about their third annual Fishing Derby will be shared later this year.

For more information or updates on Davis's activities in Springfield and local communities, constituents are encouraged to visit RepJedDavis.com or follow him on Facebook. Queries can be directed via email at Davis@ilhousegop.org or by phone at 331-867-8200.
