State Representative Jed Davis of Yorkville recently addressed a press conference in Springfield, expressing concerns over an incident at a Deerfield school. The situation involved young female students being required to change clothes in the presence of a biological male.

Rep. Davis acknowledged the bravery of those speaking out about the issue. “First and foremost, I want to recognize the Georgas family for their courage,” he stated. He emphasized that confronting political challenges is not easy but necessary for families' voices to be heard.

He described the event as both outrageous and incorrect. “What happened in Deerfield isn’t only outrageous, it’s wrong. No young girl should ever be forced to undress in front of a biological male – period. And to have school staff enforce this? It’s not education. It’s indoctrination under pressure,” said Davis.

Davis argued that this incident reflects larger policy issues stemming from Springfield, suggesting that political agendas are overshadowing practical solutions and impacting children and families adversely. “This story didn’t happen in a vacuum. This story and others are the consequences of radical policies being pushed out of Springfield. They’re putting politics ahead of common sense, and it’s our kids – our families – who are paying the price,” he remarked.

In conclusion, Davis urged for attention to common-sense solutions regarding privacy and safety for young girls, urging legislative bodies to listen more closely to public concerns. “It shouldn’t be controversial to say young girls deserve privacy and safety. It’s common sense, and it’s time Springfield started listening.”
