1. Call To Order

1.01 Roll Call

The meeting was called to order at 6:00 p.m. by President Emily Conquest. Roll call was answered as indicated. Others present were: Rachel Kinder, Dr. Tiffany Staab, Dr. Sarah Massey, Mary Robinson, Adrianne McKerrow, Aaron Souza, Nicole Aulet, Teri Underhill, Sarah Monroe, Rodney Hiser, Jeana Pekol, Barb Langhoff, Hailey Bazan, Mary Jo Botnik, Krystal Retzke, Janet Salazar, Lisa Holic, Melba Groves, Jaleasa Wilson, Hannah & Nicholas Kohrs, Vincent & Arlene Maramba, Tashia & Nathan Martin, Paul Retzke, Banas Family, Bridget Krejeli, Scott Lanka, Sarah Mrozek, Jamie Warfield, Magen Pommerening, Shay Langston, Melba Groves and Lori Shanholtzer.

Moved by Monson, seconded by Shainberg to approve the agenda as presented. Aye: Monson, Shainberg, Blount, Satorius, Conquest

2. Public Comments and Recognition

2.01 Students of the Month

Jackie Harig presented the students of the month from Minooka Intermediate School. Monica Totaro presented the students of the month from Minooka Junior High School.

2.02 Boy's Basketball Team

Coaches Ron Caves and Kevin Kreinbrink presented the team to the Board for recognition.

2.03 Public Comments from the Employees and Public None

3. Consent Agenda

Moved by Satorius, seconded by Blount to approve the list of bills, Treasurer's report, minutes from the January 27, 2025 regular meeting, destruction of the closed session recordings from February 2023, personnel report, FOIA requests and 2025-2026 academic calendar as presented.

Aye: Satorius, Blount, Monson, Shainberg, Conquest

Motion Approved.

4. Action Items

4.01 E-Rate Projects 2025

Moved by Satorius, seconded by Shainberg to approve the E-Rate Projects 2025 as presented. Aye: Satorius, Shainberg, Blount, Monson, Conquest

Motion Approved.

4.02 Minooka Elementary School Intercom Project 2025

Moved by Shainberg, seconded by Monson to approve the Minooka Elementary School Intercom Project 2025 as presented.

Aye: Shainberg, Monson, Blount, Satorius, Conquest

Motion Approved.

4.03 Approval to rank the top 3 architect firms and begin contract negotiations

Moved by Satorius, seconded by Shainberg to approve to rank the top 3 architect firms and begin contract negotiations as presented.

Aye: Satorius, Shainberg, Blount, Monson, Conquest

Motion Approved.

5. Discussion and Information Items

5.01 1st Grade Chromebook Discussion

Aaron Souza, Hailey Bazan and Mary Jo Botnik shared with the board a presentation regarding 1st Grade purchasing Chromebooks. (presentation can be viewed in the electronic board packet)

5.02 2025-2026 Staffing Recommendations

Director of Human Resources Sarah Massey shared the 2025-2026 Staffing Recommendations. (recommendation report can be view in the electronic board packet)

6. COMMUNICATION

6.01 Board Topics

President Emily Conquest reported that the Consolidated Election is April 1, 2025 and we have 7 candidates running for 4 open seats the Board of Education will have.

6.02 Administrative Reports

Rachel Kinder, Superintendent reported:

Starting summer planning as well as 2025-2026 school year planning.

Student registration will begin after spring break.

Please fill out 5Essentials Survey if you have not already. We receive important data that summarizes the input from stakeholders to help us make improvements to our schools and district.

Student enrollment has been stable but will continue to monitor.

Thanked all architects for taking time to send in their proposals.

State and National level guidelines could impact public education and we are staying informed and looking at any bills that can affect K-8 education. We will focus on what we can control, adapt with the changes and will do what is best for our children.

Dr. Tiffany Staab, Assistant Superintendent reported:

Health Services Coordinator Amy Pelnarsh is doing a CPR training for staff including coaches and sponsors.

Emerging Bilingual Coordinator Erika Martinez has brought many advantages to the Multilingual Program including continuous training for staff.

March 7th Teacher Institute will have guest speaker Briana Morales.

Adrianne McKerrow, Academic Officer reported:

Instructional Coaches working with administrators for professional learning in their buildings.

Instructional Coaches are using creative ways to work with teachers.

Will be meeting with Fine Art teams in the coming weeks.
