Today, State Representative Jed Davis welcomed Charlene Sligting to the Women to Watch event held in Springfield. The event featured a breakfast, listening session, networking lunch, and an informational seminar led by women in leadership roles.
"I was honored to welcome Charlene Sligting to the Women to Watch event," said Rep. Davis. "Charlene is an incredible part of our community and is a thriving entrepreneur and local business owner."
Charlene Sligting, recognized for her contributions, is a professional photographer, multimedia creator, national speaker, and educator. She also runs a small business resource group and owns Newark Place, an event center.
Rep. Davis added, "This event was a great opportunity for Charlene to meet and network with other women leaders from across Illinois. I am honored that such an accomplished woman was able to represent the 75th district at this event."
Nearly 50 women from across the state participated in the event, where their contributions were also acknowledged by House Republican Leader Tony McCombie.
